What DTF is, without the jargon
Direct-to-film printing means your artwork is printed onto a transfer film, coated with adhesive, and heat pressed onto the garment. Because there are no screens, there is no setup cost and no colour limit — a photograph costs exactly the same to print as a single word.
That makes it the obvious choice for two situations: small orders, and artwork with gradients, photographs or more than about four colours. It is also how we say yes to the four-shirt job that a screen-only shop has to turn away.
DTF or screen print?
Honestly: under twelve pieces, DTF wins almost every time. Over about 48 pieces at one to three colours, screen printing wins on both price and hand-feel. In between it depends on the artwork. Send us the design and the quantity and we will tell you which one is cheaper — including when that means talking you out of the more expensive option.
What DTF is good for
- Small batches — bachelorette weekends, birthdays, family reunions, four-person crews
- Full-colour and photographic artwork — gradients, photos, illustrations, anything screens struggle with
- Individual names and numbers — every shirt different at no extra setup
- Samples and prototypes — see it on the actual garment before committing to a production run
- Rush jobs — no screens to burn means 24–48 hours is realistic
- Mixed garment orders — the same artwork across tees, hoodies, tote bags and caps

Saturday hours are rare around here. We keep them because coaches, barn managers and contractors do not work Monday to Friday either.

As far as we can tell, no other shop in the western communities publishes a rate card at all. Here is ours.

Prices exclude Palm Beach County sales tax. Artwork complexity, oversized prints and hard-to-source garments can move the number — we will always tell you before we do the work, not after. Full rate card.

Common questions
Is there really no minimum?
None. We will print one shirt. There is no setup fee on DTF, so a single piece costs what a single piece costs — no penalty for ordering small.
How long does DTF last compared to screen printing?
Well applied, DTF holds up through 50+ washes and stays flexible rather than cracking. Screen printing still edges it on very long-term durability for heavy workwear, which is part of why we steer bulk crew orders that way.
Can you do every shirt with a different name?
Yes, and that is one of DTF’s real advantages — variable artwork costs nothing extra because there are no screens. Team rosters, bachelorette parties with roles on the back, staff shirts with individual names all work.
Does it work on dark shirts?
Yes, and unlike screen printing there is no separate charge for a white under-base — it is built into the transfer. Colours stay bright on black and navy.
How fast can I get a small DTF order?
Typically 24–48 hours, often with no rush surcharge, because there are no screens to prepare. Call or text with your deadline and we will confirm.
